Leeds United head coach Jesse Marsch says he doesn’t care who wins the World Cup as his focus is solely on his work at the Peacocks.

What did Jesse Marsch say?

The American was asked about the World Cup ahead of Leeds’ final game before the players travel to Qatar. When asked to pick a winner, Jesse Marsch was quick to point out that the World Cup was not necessarily his business.

The American coach said he didn’t care. According to Jesse Marsch, he finds international football interesting, but he is completely immersed in club football and they are almost like two different sports. “So again, I just want our guys to do well, so maybe USA, I choose USA to win?,” he said.

The Leeds United manager went on to say that he thinks they are all Americans first and foremost, very optimistic about their team and their young talent. The band is manageable but not easy and Jesse thinks that everyone in the US when they play in England is very excited. So he will watch that match.

He will be rooting for the US, Marsch says, and he knows it will take their absolute best performance to stand a chance. But the American thinks that’s one of the things that’s unique to America, that feeling of fearlessness, and they almost thrive and enjoy the moments where things get tough and when everyone expects them to fail, so they’ll see. The Leeds United manager says it won’t be easy. Jesse Marsch is looking forward to it.

A little about the topic

The American manager is only focused on Leeds United, who have been playing better lately after some rocky results. The Peacocks won their last two games in the PL, defeating the Cherries and the Reds, losing each of their last four. The club currently sits 12th in the league, three points away from relegation.

Jesse earned two caps for the US national team, making his debut on November 11, 2011 against Trinidad and Tobago. The second cap of the American appeared six years later in a friendly match against China in June 2007.
