The English football coach and former Chelsea player says it is his dream to become the club’s manager.
A little about the topic
John spent 19 years playing for the Blues’ senior squad after graduating from the club’s youth academy. The former England star has returned to Stamford Bridge as a coaching consultant, but he hopes to work his way up to a head coaching position in the coming years.
What did John Terry say?
When asked if his goal of becoming Chelsea head coach is worth it, John Terry said yes, it is his dream. “Obviously when you’re a kid you want to play in the first team,” Terry said. How coach John is now so shifted. The long term ambition and goal is to be the manager of Chelsea, of course. It seems a little funny to say that because someone is in the work and listening, they are still saying 10, 15 years below maybe.
According to John Terry, he must have an end goal, and that’s it. This is his dream. Terry hopes it does. John is doing it, but a lot of things in between should go very well for him. So, Terry is very patient with the decisions he makes in the next step in terms of management. But according to John, returning to Chelsea makes him very happy. It was quite emotional when he first moved in.
John’s post-retirement activities?
John, who has won five Premier League titles and a Champions League crown among other trophies at Chelsea, left the club in 2017 to join Aston Villa. After a year in the Championship in which he helped Villa advance to the Premier League, John was promoted to the club’s assistant manager. John Terry left last July before taking on a new role at Chelsea earlier this year.
