Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson has offered a positive assessment of the Reds’ squad despite struggling early in the season in the PL.

What did Jordan Henderson say?

The Reds had a rather disappointing start to the season, languishing in ninth place after 12 Premier League games. Some people speculate that Klopp’s squad has run its course, but Jordan dismissed those claims, suggesting they should give more.

The English midfielder was asked if this was the end for this Red team, to which he replied: “When you say ‘this team’, the team is always evolving. Is this team the same as three or four years ago? I don’t know. Tell me.” According to Jordan Henderson, Liverpool is constantly evolving. Players leave and players enter. The club is constantly evolving. What remains the same is that they have to keep going, keep working, keep fighting.

But according to Henderson, this will never be the end for the Reds. The players that are here now, the manager, the fans, the club, everything, they will always fight and come back from bad periods. Jordan Henderson says people are quick to jump on what went wrong, but that was just four or five months ago where they played every game they could, won two trophies, made it to the Champions League final and lost the league by a point.

Some have suggested that the Reds issue has burned out, but the England international denied this. Jordan Henderson said that people mention the long season they had last year and they didn’t get a long enough break, but it’s pointless to moan about it. According to the Englishman, this will not change anything.

What’s next for the Reds?

Liverpool will host Derby in the Carabao Cup midweek. A home fixture against the Saints takes them to the World Championship break, where Jurgen will hope he can get a good look at how to turn things around.
