Mourinho Launches a Sarcastic Rant over the International Break
Spurs coach Mourinho has aimed a thinly-veiled dig at the international break on IG by moaning about coronavirus tests after matches and having to train with 6 players.
Earlier this month, Mourinho had admitted he feared the worst once again and he expected only “negative things” to come from the international football as Matt Doherty tested positive for the virus.
Ireland’s defender played in the 1-0 defeat against Wales although he will not miss Spurs’ match with Manchester City and Chelsea.
Also, Mourinho added he would love Harry Kane to be rested from the international fixtures. This after the England captain was involved in a club-versus-country row over the use of the striker with Southgate last month.
Kane was left on the bench for England’s friendly win over Ireland last week although he played for 90 minutes as Belgium beat England 2-0 in the Nations League.
Hence Mourinho has made his displeasure at their fixture pile-up this season no secret. Clearly, he has been left more agitated by how the international break has interfered with his plans.
In a sarcastic rant on Instagram, he wrote, “Amazing week of football. Great emotions in the national team matches, superb friendlies, and total safety”.
“COVID test results after matches been played, randomers running on the pitch while team session retaking place and much more. After another training session with only 6 players, it is now time to take care of myself”.
Obviously, the 57-year-old has been unhappy at having to release three of his players including Gareth Bale, to work under Arsenal coach Albert Stuivenberg with Wales.
And, with only six players at his disposal, Mourinho has to prepare for Sunday’s clash with Manchester City as he welcomes all his international starts back on Thursday.
