Jurgen Klinsmann brought Christian Pulisic back to his debut when he was only 17.
A little about the topic
The former US men’s team coach says the American footballer has grown so much over the past few years that the player is now looking forward to his first World Cup. The German coach presented the winger with his first USMNT cap in 2016, making the then 17-year-old the youngest American to play in a World Cup qualifier. This qualifying round will eventually end in a heartbeat, but in helping the US qualify for this winter tournament in Qatar, Christian has proven he has learned to lead in the eyes of his former coach.
What Jurgen said about Christian Pulisic
Jurgen Klinsmann said he thinks Christian Pulisic did fantastic. Pulisic, over the years they have seen him mature as he takes on more responsibility on and off the field. Christian has a lot of character and a lot of personality. According to Klinsmann, what the American has been through since the age of 17 is just wonderful. It’s great and it doesn’t exist yet. Christian Pulisic can just get better and become more of a leader.
The experience that Pulisic is now under his belt is fantastic: playing in the Champions League at Borussia Dortmund, and then moving to Chelsea and winning it and playing at the highest level a week in and a week out. The roster there is basically two national teams with 22 players and having that battle every day in training and then hoping to start over the weekend or maybe come off the bench with players who are just top class players.
Jurgen Klinsmann thinks the American has gone through an outstanding process over the past couple of years and he is definitely a leader for Team USA going forward and he has been for the last two or three years.
