Frank Lampard was previously accused of breaking football’s unwritten code when he rubbed Jurgen Klopp the wrong way at Liverpool.
Passion is one quality that Frank Lampard can never be accused of lacking, despite the fact that his managing career has been, to say the least, less than stellar.
Everton, who play their home games at Goodison Park, are currently 19th in the Premier League table after dismissing Frank Lampard. This is the second time in his career that he has been unemployed. After his time at Chelsea came to an end in January 2021, Lampard was fired from his next employment, making this the second job in a row that has come to an abrupt stop for him.
Even though Lampard’s tenure at Everton did not produce the desired results, he is credited with helping to rally the team in their fight for survival during the previous season, which took place against the backdrop of a rift between the players and the fans. He was equally well-liked during his time at his previous club, Chelsea, where he made debuts for a number of promising youngsters during his first season in charge before things soon went from bad to worse.
Lampard’s antics on the sidelines occasionally irritated others, notably Liverpool’s manager Jurgen Klopp, who found them particularly annoying. During a match played behind closed doors at Anfield in July 2020, the two notoriously engaged in a heated yelling match with one another before Liverpool went on to win the game 5-3.
Lampard was left furious after a foul wasn’t called, and he was still frustrated after the game. He said: “Fair play to Liverpool Football Club, they’ve won the league, but also don’t become too cocky with it. Lampard was heard urging his Reds opponents to “f*** off.” That was the point I was trying to make, but it’s too late. It’s easy to let your emotions get the best of you during match play. ”
After the incident, Klopp said that Lampard had broken the unwritten rule of football by extending the dispute after the game as a reaction to charges of arrogance. Lampard’s actions had angered Klopp since they were a violation of the norm.
Klopp said: “You are not permitted to strike me with something of that nature. We are not proud or haughty. I recognize and understand that Frank was in a competitive mentality. Say whatever you want in that circumstance, pure emotion, he came to win. He came to win”.
“But what he needs to understand is that discussing it after the game, after the referee has blown his whistle, is not appropriate. Final whistle, as a true sportsman… close the book, and he didn’t do either of those things, and that’s what I have a problem with, to tell you the truth. The only reason I am speaking now is because he talked after me.”
After that, Lampard continued: “I’ve observed the video, and I was present at the event. Because I have two young girls who use social media, I deeply regret using language that is inappropriate for them. How would I rate my passion for defending my team? No.\s” I could have handled it differently, but some accounts indicated that I was irritated with the festivities. I could have handled it differently. In no way does it. They are free to rejoice, just as they do after every goal”.
“I would have liked to have a beer with Jurgen Klopp after the game, but there were things that happened on the bench that I felt crossed a line. These things were not caused by Klopp. I am sorry for the words that was used, but we will continue”.
