Jurgen Klopp has once again voiced his displeasure at the hectic schedule of Premier League football over the festive period.

The Liverpool boss is staring down the barrel of eight fixtures during December, which then leads into a very tight turnaround before facing title rivals Chelsea on January 2.

For several seasons Klopp has made his opinions known at the end of the calendar year, in what is often seen as a gentle nod to the powers that be in football to ease the heavy pile-up of fixtures.

On Friday, speaking ahead of his side facing Wolves at Molineux on Saturday, Klopp said: ‘It’s crazy. It was always crazy and will always be. Everything is fine until you reach that Christmas time”.

“26th and 28th is still not right. But we have to accept that. We do that and it’s tradition and I get there but it’s not getting better. We have two months ahead of us now which will be difficult to deal with”.

“But the good news is that all teams have it the same. We have two games more because of the champions league but the rest all the same. It’s just 95 mins every three days, super intense runs and challenges all these kinds of things, really not easy but it’s doable”.

Klopp also refused to be drawn into early talk of a title race, despite his men breaking ahead at the top with Manchester City and Chelsea, with the remainder of the division struggling to keep pace.

When asked whether this could be one of the most exciting title races in recent Premier League memory, he responded, “Is it already a title race? I don’t know”.

“’It’s a very, very good highest quality league. It’s unbelievable how good you have to be to win this. If we are around there that is our target”.

“You cannot win in November, December but you can lose it maybe. I can’t see it at the moment already as a title race”.
