Nicolo Zaniolo has been targeted by Juventus and Brazilian midfielder Arthur Melo is being looked at as a possible addition.

Transaction value for Nicolo Zaniolo

Bianconeri has signed the Giallorossi for a possible deal for the Italian footballer. Nicolo Zaniolo has been on the recruiting radar in Turin for a while, but it’s only now that this interest has been formalized. Initial discussions have taken place between Serie A rivals, with Juventus poised to step up their efforts to lure a promising player out of the Italian capital.

Roma is understood to value the Italian at around €50m. They saw him score the winning goal in his Europa League final triumph over Feyenoord last season and not part with one of his prized assets for less than his full market value. This may prove to be a sticking point for the bianconeri, but they have potential sweeteners up their sleeves. Arthur Melo could be used as a weight on any move for Nicolo Zaniolo as Juventus looks to soften the blow for Roma.

A little about Di Maria

While exploring the possibility of taking Nicolo away from the Giallorossi, the Bianconeri remains infatuated with seasoned Argentine player Ángel Di Maria. Di Maria became a free agent after the end of his contract with PSG and a move was made to fit the Argentine striker. The Bianconeri are still hoping to get the papers signed there and any agreement with Angel will not affect plans when it comes to Nicolo Zaniolo.

With Nicolo, there is a chance that a loan deal will be discussed that includes a call option at the end of the 2022-23 campaign. It would be quite a turnaround for Juventus if they could get the Azzurri star on board, but there is acknowledgment at the Allianz Stadium that any offer will not be easy to push through and that negotiations could drag into the summer window for some more time.
