Juve has set a € 40 million asking price for Everton-linked defender Merih Demiral.

The manager will have the final word on Merih Demiral

The Bianconeri paid € 18m to bring Merih to Turin from Sassuolo in 2019, but he has not been able to earn a regular spot in the starting XI since then. The 21-year-old was capped at just 15 Serie A appearances for Juventus at the latest, and it has been speculated that returning head coach Massimiliano will sanction his starting before the summer transfer window closes.

Merih Demiral has just returned to Allianz Stadium after his appearance at Euro 2020 with Turkey and is set to sit down to negotiate his future with Allegri in the coming days. Juventus officials have set a center estimate of € 40 million in case he is not included in Allegri’s plans for the new season. The Italian manager will have the final word on Merih Demiral, who still has three years left to run on his current contract with the Serie A giants.

A little about Merih Demiral

Everton is currently being touted as Merih Demiral’s most likely next destination if Juve ultimately decides to cash in on the Turkish defender, and new Toffees boss Rafael Benitez is reportedly eager to bolster his options from behind. Atalanta and Roma are also weighing the appropriate steps for Merih Demiral, but it is unclear if any potential nagging will be willing to meet the Bianconeri’s final royalty demands.

Merih Demiral has distinguished himself in only 32 games in all competitions for Juventus over the past two years, recording one goal and two assists. The former Sassuolo star has also claimed the Serie A title and the Italian Supercompany medal at the Allianz Stadium, but finds himself behind the likes of Matthijs de Ligt and Leonardo Bonucci on the team.
