Juve is working on a new contract for Juan Cuadrado, with the experienced Colombian approaching the final 12 months of his current deal.

Juan Cuadrado remains a vital for Juve

Universal South American has been with the Bianconeri since the completion of the initial loan transition from Chelsea in the summer of 2015. The South American has taken over 220 appearances for the Serie A heavyweights and remains a useful part of their plans despite the fact that he is now 34 years old. Cuadrado remains a vital source of transmissions for Juventus, with 10 recorded in the Italian top flight this season. Cuadrado has combined 17 efforts in all competitions, while registering two goals of his own. The Bianconeri see it as an important asset in their immediate future and Turin is undergoing significant changes on and off the field. Efforts are underway to link Juan to a deal that will extend his tenure with the club until 2023. The ability to fill his back or as a winger further underscored his value for a collective cause, with Andrea Pirlo finding a regular role for him.

Has Cuadrado thought about returning?

There was talk of interest from afar as Juan approached the final year of his contract. Everton is among those said to be keen to bring the proven performer back to the Premier League, and Carlo Ancelotti is keeping a close eye on developments at his former club. Juan has also stated in the past that he would like to return to his roots at some point, although these plans continue to be delayed. Back in March 2020, shortly after pledging to close his last deal for two and a half years, Juan Cuadrado said he was thinking about returning to the Independiente de Medellin, but perhaps that will happen later. Juan was unable to help Juventus win another Serie A title this season, with five successes already under his belt, but sacked in a vital 3-2 win over Inter, who kept four of their best hopes alive and played all 90 minutes in a win over Atalanta in the finale of the Coppa Italia.
