This summer, Juventus has completed the signing of Angel di Maria on a free transfer.

Following the end of his contract, the Argentine winger left Paris Saint-Germain and was linked to both Juventus and Barcelona.

Di Maria, though, “got tired of waiting” for Barcelona to make a bid and subsequently agreed to terms with the Serie A club.

Di Maria spent the previous seven years with Paris Saint-Germain, where he won 14 major trophies, including five Ligue 1 championships, before becoming a free agent at the beginning of this month.

Barcelona and his former club, Benfica, were interested in Di Maria. However, according to sources, Di Maria grew “weary” of waiting for Barcelona to make a bid.

Therefore, he leaped at the chance to sign with Juventus when the Serie A powerhouses expressed interest in a deal earlier this summer.

The terms of Di Maria’s contract with Juventus have not been released, however it is thought that he signed a one-year contract.

In 294 appearances for PSG, the 122-time Argentina international scored 92 goals and dished out 118 assists, for a total of 118 goals and 92 assists.

He scored four goals in 30 matches in all competitions for the Ligue 1 giants last season.

Di Maria began his professional career in his native Argentina with Rosario Central before moving to Benfica in Portugal in 2007.

The winger then joined Real Madrid, followed by an unsuccessful stint with Manchester United and a transfer to PSG in 2015.
