English transfer target Man City has been warned against moving to the Etihad Stadium amid concerns that the midfielder will be a bench player behind Rodri’s other class.

What did Mills say about Kalvin Phillips?

Kalvin Phillips is one of Guardiola’s main centers after signing with Haaland, with the idea being he would help the club replace the outgoing Fernandinho. But ex-Man City and Leeds player Danny Mills thinks the potential move is dangerous for Kalvin, given the strong team that Pep Guardiola already has.

Danny Mills said he thinks if Kalvin Phillips goes to Man City he becomes another player on the team. According to Malls, will the Phillips likely play 20 or so games? Kalvin is not Rodri’s standard yet, another class of Rodri. Mills remembers watching Rodri when he first walked in to the football club and thinking, wow.

However, Danny believes that Kalvin, 26, could eventually surpass Rhodri’s production, even if he’s not ready for it yet. Danny Mills says he doesn’t say Phillips will be recognized because he is a very good player but going into Man City with intensity and the expectation of having to win every week is then on par.

A little about Kalvin Phillips

If Kalvin had been the only first-team midfielder to bring in this summer, he would almost certainly have received more than the 20 matches predicted by the Mills, assuming full health. Brazilian soccer player Fernandinho, after all, played in 33 matches last year. Given the crowded fixture list of Man City, there are rich games to spread around. However, a role in the biggest of the occasions could be difficult for Kalvin to tell if he acclimates to the Etihad Stadium right away.

What does the guardiola hope for?

Pep could look forward to adding a left-back in the coming months, with Brighton’s Cucurella considered one possible target. They also scouted Saint Livramento before he suffered a cruciate knee ligament injury.
