Brendan Rodger has heaped praises to his goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel who produced several fine saves in Leicester’s 1-1 draw against Burnley.

Schmeichel produced fine performances to help the Foxes earn a crucial 1 point. Burnley opened the scoreline after four minutes when Matej Vydra intercepted a loose Hamza Choudhury assist.

Despite the host’s early lead, the Foxes stay put, and Kelechi Iheanacho had an equalized with a fantastic volley. The goal stood to the last whistle, thanks to Schmeichel.  He dined the host’s several efforts to claim 3 points and hand his side a point.

The results satisfyingly pleased Rodgers with the overall display considering his side’s long injuries list. It would have been Rodger’s third successive defeat and a first under his reign.

“He’s been brilliant for me in my time here. There are moments where it looks like it’s going to be a goal and he pulls off a save,” Rodgers said.

“His concentration and his desire to stop the ball going in the net is so good. He always produces for us. He’s absolutely outstanding when he had to be here. That’s why he’s one of the top keepers at this level,” he explained.

“We made an awful start in the game to concede so early. That always tests your mentality and spirit, but I thought we came into the game, showed good moments of quality in the first half,” he continued.

“When we were playing and breaking through we looked a real threat. And we were unfortunate not to have won the game, with Youri hitting a post. But if you can’t win if you take your point and move on,” he added.

Leicester Boss was quick to pay tribute to Schmeichel, claim he is one of the top best keepers. Leicester failed to take the United’s draw advantage and climb to second place. The Foxes sits in third place 1 point behind second-place Manchester United and 15 off the leader Manchester City.
