The 56th match of the current season of IPL was played between KKR vs MI on Monday. In which Kolkata won by 52 runs. With this win, while KKR’s hopes of reaching the playoffs is alive, MI’s journey in the tournament is almost over. Batting first, KKR scored 165 runs, in response, the entire team of Mumbai only managed to score 113 runs.
Kolkata Knight Riders came to bat first, got a solid start by the openers. Venkatesh Iyer and Ajinkya Rahane added 60 runs for the first wicket. Rahane was dismissed after scoring 25 runs while Venkatesh played an innings of 43 runs. Nitish Rana, who came at number three, played an innings of 43 runs in 26 balls, which included four sixes and three fours. Meanwhile, Rinku Singh played an innings of 23 runs but the batsmen after that could not even touch the double figure. The team scored 165 runs for 9 wickets in the entire 20 overs.
The target of 166 runs is not big but MI’s batting flopped and lost wicket in clusters. Only Ishan Kishan scored the highest 51 runs, the rest of the batsmen returned to the pavilion cheaply. Rohit went on after scoring just 2 runs. While Tilak Verma played an innings of 6 runs. Ramandeep made 12, Tim David scored 13 and Kieron Pollard scored 15 runs. After all, the batsmen could not even touch the double mark and the entire team was bundled out for 113 runs in 17.3 overs.
