Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) opening batsman Ajinkya Rahane has been ruled out of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 due to a serious hamstring injury. 

Also, he can be left out of the singles Test against England starting from July. Looking at the upcoming England series. This is is a big setback for Team India. 

Injury was done in IPL itself

Rahane got injured while batting for Kolkata against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the MCA Stadium in Pune on May 14. And he was dismissed for 28 runs in 24 balls. 

The two-time IPL champions restricted Hyderabad to 123/8 and registered a 54-run win. According to a report in Cricbuzz, ‘Board of Control for Cricket in India sources said that Rahane will be reporting to the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore. Where he may require more than four weeks of rehab.’

Bad timing for Rahane

Rahane, who lost his vice-captaincy in the longest format of the game, was last seen in Test cricket action during India’s three-match series against South Africa in January.
