Klopp hinted that Henderson could sort out his plans to open the Premier League season against Norwich, with the Liverpool captain lining up for a few minutes in a friendly clash with Osasuna on Monday.

What did Jurgen Klopp say?

The Reds will also have a squad against the Athletic Club on Sunday, with the final touches on preparation ahead of what promises to be another intriguing domestic and continental campaign for England and Europe’s biggest clubs. Jordan Henderson will be hoping to figure prominently in Jurgen Klopp’s plans, but he was late for preseason after helping England in the UEFA Euro 2020 final and after seeing his 2020-21 campaign ending in injury, is weakening this summer.

When asked by the club’s official website about his plans for Jordan Henderson, Jurgen Klopp said Henderson trained in Liverpool. According to Klopp, they have a meeting on Saturday, everything is fine, and they will see if he plays for a few minutes or not. Klopp hadn’t thought about it yet, and probably most likely in the second game, but if anyone was worried that they were choosing the wrong game, Klopp couldn’t tell which team A and which team B, to be honest. Jurgen Klopp also said that they only have good players here, which is good. Both teams will go to great lengths, so all is well.

Who deserves attention?

Jordan Henderson has been a prominent figure for Liverpool during his 10 years at Merseyside, but this is a lineup game for Liverpool and everyone has a part to play. Some don’t see as many minutes as they would like, but Jurgen Klopp was impressed during the preseason with the efforts of Takumi Minamino, Xherdan Shaqiri and Kostas Tsimikas as they strive to remind him of their value. The German added on the back of a friendly win over Bologna on Thursday that Kostas Tsimikas was really, really good, I must say. This is true. It’s only been 45 minutes, that’s ok, Owen Beck 15 minutes, which is good.
