Barcelona suffered a 3-0 defeat to Bayern Munich last Tuesday and then, this Monday, they drew with Granada in LaLiga Santander. This past week could be worth a whole chapter in the book that is Ronald Koeman’s managerial career at Barcelona, and even though Koeman has a close to perfect relationship with the President, it doesn’t mean that he has a place in Barcelona for life. There hasn’t been an actual official source talking about this, because there hasn’t been any new information regarding the whole Barcelona’s trainer situation. It’s been quite to say the least.
Koeman’s situation
It’s not the final chapter, though. Even though it is increasingly clear that Barcelona are not where they want to be and even though Joan Laporta’s patience with Koeman is beginning to fade, the Dutchman is set to take charge of Cadiz vs Barcelona on Thursday. There, Koeman’s position with the Catalan club really could be on the line. The draw against Granada has left the Dutchman in a vulnerable position. It’s not just the dropped points, but the style too, at this point we can’t say for sure if Koeman will stay in Barcelona, he has potential, but it seems like it takes him too long to see some kind of result at least in Barcelona’s eyes, and we can’t judge Barcelona for it, they need to show people a game not a waiting game of some kind, so because of this we can’t say for sure if Koeman will stay in Barcelona as a coach, Barcelona has big financial problems and we don’t know if Barcelona can do anything to this situation.
Koeman’s future
Koeman’s situation is in odd and unfortunate situation, he is still a somewhat good trainer, but that doesn’t mean that he is good for Barcelona, only thing we can surely say is that, there is a huge chance of him going to another club, only thing we have to do at this point is to wait and see what is going to happen.
