Match Preview
Kolkata Knight Riders registered a thrilling victory in their last match. Now this team has to hit the ground again on Sunday against Delhi Capitals.
KKR will be in high spirits because they have got decent match winners. On the other hand, Delhi Capitals has plenty of problems to fix in the batting departments. The captain himself has struggled from his standards. Maybe the pressure of captaincy is breaking out.
Against Mumbai Indians, it seemed that Kolkata would lose but Pat Cummins came and turned the match with an unbeaten 56 off 15 balls. In this match, Kolkata Knight Riders will focus on to be more clinical and consistent.
Delhi’s season so far has been mixed. In the last match, they were handed defeat by Lucknow Super Giants. In three matches, Delhi has lost two and won one.
Kolkata are eyeing a hat-trick of victory while Delhi need their second win. In the last match, Delhi’s team was strengthened as David Warner and Anrich Nortje returned to the team. This was the first match of both of these players. However, they didn’t contribute significantly.
Changes In Team
A change can be expected in the Delhi team. Rovman Powell has not been able to impress with bat or ball. Australia’s Mitchell Marsh may get a chance in his place, but whether Mitchell Marsh is fit to play or not, the situation is not clear yet. Before the match against Lucknow, the team’s assistant coach Shane Watson had said that Marsh is slowly recovering.
The chances of Kolkata Knight Riders captain Shreyas Iyer making changes in his winning playing XI are negligible. If a player gets hurt, then the matter is different, otherwise there is no sign of change in the team in any other case. Ajinkya Rahane’s form may be a matter of concern for the team but seeing his experience, the team would like to continue giving him chances.
