Post image
This is match number 40 of the Tata IPL between Kolkata Knight Riders and Gujarat Titans. GT are at the third position in the points table while Kolkata has lived on 7th position in the points table.

GT are high on spirit after winning back to back matches, first against LSG then defeating the strong looking Mumbai side. For Kolkata things have been quite inconsistent. However, they defeated RCB in their previous encounter so they will back themselves to do it against GT.

There will be plenty of high quality players on show during this match let’s take a look at 3 players who can stand out:

Hardik Pandya

Hardik Pandya has scored more than 350 runs in 11 matches while playing against KKR to it means that he loves to play against the side. Also he has been quite good with the ball taking 14 wickets with economy under 7.

The last time when these two sides came against each other, Hardik wasn’t part of the GT side. This time around there are plenty of chances that he can be the most impactful player for Gujarat Titans in this match.

Venketesh Iyer

We have seen some terrific innings from Venkatesh Iyer in this Tata IPL. One of his best innings, 40 balls 83 runs came against Gujarat Titans 2 weeks ago. If Kolkata opts to chase, he will be surely a key player to watch because he has done so well for the team.

Also, two incredible knocks from Iyer so far and both have come during day matches so there is a possibility of another wonderful innings. He averages 50 against the GT side so everything it telling us that there is a big innings on offer from the destructive Iyer.

Jason Roy

Jason Roy is no less than a blessing for Kolkata Knight Riders since he has come at least their top order looks more aggressive and more better than it was before him. He has played three matches and has already scored two half-centuries and one 40 score.

When Roy is on full flow, hardly there is any chance for bowlers to hide away from him. This guy can hit big sixes and not one but three and fours in a single over which he has done twice this year against spinners.

Kolkata Knight Riders don’t have much time to experiment and get back on track they have to be on track and win at least 90% of their remaining matches to have the hope for the qualifying in the top 4.

For Gujarat Titans, things are under control for the moment. The two Afghani spinners have been doing excellent job for them. The power of David Miller assisted by the newly talented Abhinav Manohar are doing some damage in the middle order.
