Konstantinos Mavropanos is still unsure about the future he will hold at Arsenal, with the door open for him to stay in Stuttgart as the Gunners await discussions with their Greek defender.

Things can change quickly in football

The 23-year-old spent the 2020-21 campaign on loan in Germany, with a new contract signed at Emirates Stadium, before taking the move. Arsenal aimed to ensure full control over Konstantinos’ careers under the sanctions for this transition, but has not yet outlined its long-term plans for the promising half of the center.

Discussing his future, the man who recently made his international debut for Greece said that he would not be able to say that at the moment if he returned to Arsenal. Things can change quickly in football and he still has two months here in Stuttgart and would like to end the season with the team as high as possible. The defender says the door to VfB is open for him to stay for another year, which is very good, but he can only think specifically about the future when they have negotiations with Arsenal for the new season.

Kostantinos is very careful while making a decision

Konstantinos Mavropanos was one of Arsene Wenger’s last contenders for the post of Arsenal boss, the deal was sold in January 2018. Just eight appearances for the Gunners have been accepted since then, with Gabriel Magalhaes and David Luiz subsequently snapping back. As a result, Konstantinos was allowed to leave North London with fellow credit star William Saliba, but Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta was eager to note that the two top-rated defenders remained part of his mindset. The Spaniard noted that they very often hold meetings to assess what they are doing, and obviously they get all the information and watch their games, because he wants to be very careful about what they are doing.
