India’s spin-bowling all-rounder Krunal Pandya, who was a part of Lucknow Super Giants in this year’s IPL, will now be seen playing in the Royal One Day Cup. The Royals will play county cricket for the first time this summer after agreeing a deal to join Warwickshire for the London Cup.

The 31-year-old is not a part of India’s ODI or T20 squad for the series against England this month. Two of his teammates Washington Sundar (Lancashire) and Cheteshwar Pujara (Sussex) will be seen playing in the domestic 50-over competition starting on August 2.

The introduction of the Hundred last year has dampened the popularity of the Royal London Cup. England’s best white-ball players are often unavailable for county duty while they play in The Hundred.

However, active Indian players are not allowed to play in T20 leagues outside the IPL, including the Hundred, and the participation of three key players boosts the prestige of the Royal London Cup.

Warwickshire Director of Cricket Paul Farbrace said: “Krunal is an incredible signing for the club, and I am delighted to welcome him to Edgbaston.” Will be desperate.”

Some Warwickshire players The Hundred will take part and will be absent for Kanti. There will be many young players in his 50-over team and he hopes that Krunal will act as a mentor for him.

Farbrace said, “Because of our impressive T20 performances, we will lose players to The Hundred, but this is always the case with successful teams. We believe this is a great opportunity for our young players to learn from Krunal and I am sure he will be excited to help develop their skills.”

Krunal Pandya said, “I am really excited to have the opportunity to play county cricket and join a historic club like Warwickshire. Edgbaston is a special place to play cricket and I can’t wait to call it my home. I hope so. Hope I can play my part in a successful 50-over campaign with the club.”
