During his post-match comments following PSG’s loss to Bayern Munich, Kylian Mbappe gave the impression that he was taking a swipe at his teammate Neymar.

During the first leg of their Champions League round of 16 encounter, PSG was defeated by the Bundesliga champions by a score of 1-0. It was a replica of the scoreline from the 2020 final, right down to the fact that former PSG prodigy Kingsley Coman scored the goal, while Mbappe had a late goal disallowed after a VAR check.

Mbappe argued that the match was not yet finished despite the fact that the leaders of Ligue 1 have an uphill task to qualify for the quarterfinals. However, by doing so, the player who formerly played for Monaco looked to start a quarrel with the star player for Brazil, Neymar.

After making his return from injury in the match against Bayern, Mbappe stated, “we have to look at the finish of the game, we were handicapped but we managed to cause them trouble.”

“We worked around the clock,” he went on to say. “Our players need to be in good health for the second leg, which means that everyone needs to eat well and get enough sleep. When we play an offensive style of football, they don’t feel comfortable.”

Some people have taken Neymar’s name in jest because of a comment that was made about how well he eats and sleeps. The former Barcelona player recently offended neighbours with at least one noisy and late home party. The celebrations were referred to as “prodigiously irritating” by the mayor of Bougival, where the Brazilian currently resides.

The animosity that exists between Mbappe and Neymar stems from a dispute on the proper sequence for taking penalty kicks. After an altercation that occurred in August, both of them were reprimanded by the sporting director Luis Campos. This occurred just a few short months after Mbappe signed a huge new deal to extend his stay in Paris.

At least on the field, things have appeared to be going well for Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), as the teammates collaborated exceptionally well to score the club’s first Champions League goal of the season in September. The squad coached by Christophe Galtier went through the entirety of the group stage without suffering a single loss; however, they were edged out of first place by Benfica on the basis of the away-goals tie-breaker, which set up the meeting with a Bayern club that won all six of their group games.

Mbappe finished the World Cup as the tournament’s leading scorer. Prior to the break for the World Cup, Les Parisiens were likewise undefeated in Ligue 1 competition. They have lost three of their eight games since the return, and they were also eliminated from the Coupe de France by Marseille. Their most recent league loss prompted the France international to call for unity within the squad, despite reports that Neymar had been critical of summer arrivals Vitinha and Hugo Ekitike.
