Late comeback from Real Madrid against Monchengladbach

Los Blancos players had a late miracle against Monchengladbach. Unfortunately to Real Madrid fans, the team could not win another match in the Champions League.

Pre-match preparations

Unlike Monchengladbach, Real Madrid waited for this match in a very good mood. Los Blancos won the match against Barcelona. It was an away match in Catalonia and Real Madrid scored three goals. Fans believe that Zidane’s side could score more but decided to stop on the third goal. Real Madrid players were in a good mood and Zidane admitted that Sunday was the rest day. Team players enjoyed the big win and now they are in top-position of La Liga.

1st half of the match

Zinedine Zidane had the same line-up against Monchengladbach. Karim Benzema was playing along with Vinicius Junior and Asensio. Luka Modric was still on the bench along with Marcelo, Isco and Jovic. Toni Kroos, Valverde and Casemiro were playing from a deep midfield. The only change that happened compared to El Clasico, Hazard was on the bench. 

Real Madrid started the first half with a very aggressive attacking line. Los Blancos had few chances to score the goal. Especially Asensio was very close to scoring the goal and giving the lead to Madrid. Monchengladbach had one counter-attack in the first half and they could convert one shoot into the goal. German side won the first half with one goal gap.

2nd half of the match

In the second half, Real Madrid started aggressively. They knew that losing a match in Germany may lead to serious problems in the Champions League group. Unfortunately to Real Madrid fans, Thuram could score the second goal in the second half. Madrid went down 0-2 and Zidane had to make big changes. Eden Hazard and Luka Modric entered the pitch and Los Blancos attacks became more aggressive. 

In the 88th minute, Real Madrid scored the first goal. Casemiro gave an assist to Karim Benzema and French scored a very beautiful goal. In just three minutes, Real Madrid scored the equalizer. After the pass from Sergio Ramos, Brazilian Casemiro scored an easy goal. Los Blancos tried to attack for a big come-back win but they could not as the time was up
