Leeds announced the hiring of the American on Monday after Bielsa’s weekend sacking. It is now official that Jesse Marsch is the manager of Leeds United. Jesse Marsch was officially named as the Argentinian manager’s replacement at Elland Road following the departure of Marcelo Bielsa over the weekend.

March takes on the club, who sit 16th in the Premier League, just two points outside the relegation zone. Jesse, who was born in the US, last coached at RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga. Leeds are just two points out of the PL relegation zone and have made more appearances than the two clubs below them.

Director of Football Victor Orta said in a statement that they are delighted to welcome Marsch to the club and delighted that he will lead them into this new chapter. According to Orta, Jesse Marsch is someone they identified a few years ago during his time at Red Bull Salzburg and they feel that his philosophy and style of football matches that of the club and will suit the players very well.

They have a long term plan and he is adamant that he can take Leeds United to the next level and is excited about what the future holds.

Kinnear’s chief executive added that while the short-term goal for Marsch is clear, they believe Jesse Marsch has the courage and ambition to build on the solid foundations they have built over the past four years and improve the club’s long-term performance.

Marsch has had great success with the New York Red Bulls and Red Bull Salzburg and has demonstrated during their many meetings that he is very suited to the Leeds United football culture.
