Following the defeat to Tottenham Hotspur, Leicester City fans are furious with Brendan Rodgers and are pushing for the manager to be fired by the club’s board.
Leicester City had grabbed the lead against Tottenham Hotspurs through a penalty from Youri Tielemans only to fall behind after surrendering goals to Harry Kane and Eric Dier and Son Heung-min.
The side did equalize through James Maddison, but a second-half collapse saw them concede four goals as Rodgers’ side lost 6-2 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Leicester have now surrendered at least five goals in consecutive top-flight matches for the first time since September 1980.
The defeat drops the east Midlands club to the bottom of the Premier League standings with only one point after losing six of their first seven games of the season. The Foxes have experienced recent success, having reached the Europa Conference League semi-finals last season and winning the FA Cup in 2021.
However, the club’s poor form has enraged fans, who are demanding a change at the club and want the northern-Irish. boss to leave the King Power Stadium.
‘I suspect Rodgers will be fired after this disaster,’ said one. Eleven goals surrendered in two games would be terrible for a promoted club, but for a club that won the FA Cup just a year ago and participated in a European Semi-Final earlier this year…yikes.’
‘F**k this s**t had enough!’ shouted another. Rodgers must leave immediately!!! If you don’t agree, unfollow right now and hold your s**t dreams!!’
‘I genuinely can’t see Brendan Rodgers surviving 6 defeats in a row, especially in the manner that it’s happened,’ said a third. Defense is abysmal.
‘Decent for the future, but not enough. Confidence is at an all-time low. These are not poor players. That is still my firm belief.’
