Leicester City have made a €3.5 million offer to the World Cup winner and  Olympic Marseille winger Florian Thauvin.

Thauvin has not signed a new contract and will be available on a free transfer this summer. Leicester has made an offer to the player but could face competition for his signature.

According to reports, the Foxes have offered the 28-year-old a four-year deal with an annual salary of €3.5 million. Thauvin is asking for an annual wage of € 4 – 4.5 Million, although Leicester has made the offer.

Bruno Stain, who is Thauvin’s agent, gave an update on the winger’s preference as the summer transfer looms.

“There is a significant risk that he will have to sign for a lower amount than what was offered to him in his club,” Stain said.

“The concept of the transfer bonus for a free player is a circus, it is spread over several years,” he added.

He reveals that he was in talks about the player and no one is willing to offer the wage.

“I can tell you that I was in a big European club this week. Thauvin asks for an annual net salary of between 4 and 4.5 million euros and nobody wants to give it to him today.

“But yes, he has statistics (8 goals and 7 assists in Ligue 1) and was penalized for his year in which he was almost injured all season. He still has goals and assists numbers, and he is only 28 years old.”

City reportedly offers €3.5 million and a four-year deal to the 28-year-old but will face competition. Reports claim that Napoli, Roma, and Tottenham Hotspur also are monitoring the player’s development.

With Leicester City fighting for a possible Champions League position, they are looking for an experienced player. The winger had an unsuccessful spell at Newcastle United, but has Champions League experience and could serve City well.
