PSG knows that at the beginning of January, the winner of the World Cup Argentine forward Lionel Messi will be able to communicate freely with clubs outside of France.
How was everything?
Lionel Messi, who just inspired his country to global glory in Qatar 2022, will see his current contract at the Parc des Princes expire on June 30 next year. With this in mind, the intention of all parties concerned in the French capital is to extend it as soon as possible.
A little about Lionel Messi
President Paris Saint-Germain was in attendance to watch the Argentine claim the Middle East World Cup crown and there is information that an invitation was sent out congratulating Lionel Messi asking him to attend a meeting to discuss the player’s future – with said talks that should take place in the coming days.
The Argentina captain had already impressed Paris Saint-Germain with his attitude and commitment prior to becoming world champions and the Ligue 1 giants want the forward to stick close to Mbappé as he will continue to bring sponsors to the club as well as put their name in a frame for the Ballon d’Or honors and the Champions League.
With the World Cup over, Paris Saint-Germain already has a contract offer they intend to put on Lionel. There is information that the terms of this deal will mirror those that forward agreed to when they completed their stunning transition from Barca as a free agent in 2021 – with another two-year deal on the table. Lionel’s salary will remain about the same and the Argentine is expected to spend at least one more season in France.
