The Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham, a young man in high demand, will be at the center of the summer transfer scramble in 2023.

Liverpool are growing increasingly confident of landing England’s rising star Jude Bellingham for £100 million.

For the past year, Anfield manager Jurgen Klopp has told the club’s owners that Borussia Dortmund is his main target and that he needs their financial support. The Fenway Sports Group’s efforts to sell Liverpool have not changed their commitment to supporting Klopp in his quest to bring youth and energy to Merseyside in the form of 19-year-old Bellingham.

Because of an unlikely friendship with Three Lions teammate Jordan Henderson, Liverpool are believed to be ahead of Manchester City, Manchester United, and Real Madrid in the pursuit of the midfielder.

Despite their 13-year age difference, Henderson and Bellingham have hit it off. It’s no secret that the Liverpool captain would have been extolling the virtues of a move to Anfield in their spare time in Qatar.

And it appears that Bellingham’s father Mark, who played a significant role in his son’s decision to leave Birmingham for Dortmund despite receiving the red carpet treatment from Manchester United, prefers the next move to the red part of Merseyside.

Dortmund will not sell when the transfer window opens next month. They will, however, allow Bellingham to leave in the summer if a fee of around £100 million is paid. They are already making plans to find a suitable replacement.

Bellingham, who has grown close to Trent Alexander-Arnold, must decide his next move, and a return to the Premier League appears to be the most likely option after Real Madrid spent £60 million on Brazilian sensation Endrick this week. Currently, funds are scarce at the Santiago Bernabeu, owing to the renovation of the Champions League holders’ stadium.

On Friday night, Bellingham returned to his old haunts of St Andrew’s to watch Birmingham City beat Reading 3-2 in the Championship.

The teenage England star was given a standing ovation by Blues fans, who chanted “he’s one of our own” as he strolled around the pitch for what was coined by the club as a “final goodbye”.
