Liverpool have expressed interest in signing the 24-year-old Raphinha during the summer transfer window, winger’s agent the Leeds United Deco confirmed.

What did Deco say about Raphinha?

The Brazilian winger completed a £ 17million move to Leeds from Rennes in October 2020 and quickly found himself buying a deal as he nailed a regular spot at XI Bielsa’s starting lineup. The Brazilian’s stellar performances helped White achieve a ninth-placed Premier League finish in his first season ago in a top race, with the winger drawing attention from a number of top clubs in the process.

The winger is represented by former Barcelona star and Chelsea Deco, who has now revealed that Liverpool was among those to step up to the Leeds mascot in the summer. Deco said that Raphinha has become an important player in the Premier League, the club knows that he has grown and things will happen naturally.

Raphinha is young, he has a lot of challenges ahead, there are certainly a few clubs he likes and Liverpool like Raphinha had approaches but nothing official. Leeds wanted to keep it for one more season.

The contract does not determine the term

The Brazilian winger has been awarded a contract to remain on Elland Road until 2024, but it has been speculated that he could move to grazing next year if he continues on his current trajectory. Deco acknowledges that the Brazilian international is on track to outgrow Leeds and says they will be open to selling the price asset if they receive a lucrative offer at some point in the near future.

Raphinha’s agent added that Raphinha is happy at Leeds and that the time will surely come to make the biggest leap of his career, to take a step forward. Raphinha has three more years of contract, but no contract specifies the length of stay or prevents transfers. Leeds knows they will want to make an important sale and Raphinha will eventually grow in her career.
