Liverpool have already turned down an offer from Watford for Rhys Williams, which is valued at £15m.

A little about the topic

The Reds are set to withdraw the centre-back from loan loan at Swansea, with Liverpool expecting Nat Phillips to leave the club before the end of the transfer window. Rhys has seen limited opportunities since joining the Championship club on deadline day in August. he has only made seven appearances in all competitions and is expected to return to Merseyside this week. This would pave the way for Nat’s exit. The Nat Phillips player is looking to secure regular first team football and is attracting interest from a range of clubs.

A bit about Nat Phillips?

The Reds turned down an offer from Watford by Nat earlier this month. The Hornets wanted to take the former Boltonian on loan until the end of the season, with the obligation to make the move permanent if they avoided relegation. Although Liverpool are keen on a direct sale and they insist their £15m valuation is fair. Another side to express interest was Serie A side Napoli but opted instead to sign Tuanzebe on loan from Man Utd while West Ham are long-term fans but would have preferred to sign a defender capable of providing extra cover from the left if possible.

Burnley could be a possibility if Newcastle confirm their interest in Tarkowski, while Nat also has niggles in the Bundesliga. The defender, who played a key role in securing Champions League qualification for the Reds last season, returned to full contact training this week after suffering a broken cheekbone against Milan at the San Siro last month. Nat made three appearances for the first team this season.

Rhys Williams played a big role for the Reds

Nat, like Rhys, played a big part in the Reds’ run to the last term’s top four finish. The Academy made 19 appearances in all competitions last season, including nine in the PL, and looked to play regularly when they join Swansea at the end of the summer window. However, he has started just five games since then, the last of which came against Middlesbrough on 4 December, and Liverpool believe his development will be best served back by training with Klopp in the first team squad and provide cover as a centerback’s fifth choice before the end of the season. Liverpool have already recalled another youngster, midfielder Clarkson, from a loan spell at Blackburn, and could do the same for striker Glatzel, who has played infrequently in League Two with Tranmere.
