Liverpool returned to their impressive form as the Premier League champions secured a convincing victory at Tottenham Hotspurs.

Liverpool had a ran of five league games without a win- four of these without a goal. However, the Reds re-discovered their cutting edge and moved back to the top four at the expense of the uninspired Spurs.

Tottenham lost Harry Kane to an ankle injury at half-time and had an early Heung-min strike ruled out for offside. Afterward, Liverpool’s threat was rewarded with their first league goal in 482 minutes in the first-half stoppage time.

Roberto Firmino took advantage of Eric Dier and Hugo Lloris hesitance and tapped in Sadio Mane’s low cross from close range,

Two minutes after the break, keeper Lloris was at fault again. The France international pushed Mane’s shot into the path of right-back Trent Alexander Arnold who finished emphatically.

Meanwhile, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg’s 20-yard strike awarded Spurs hope almost immediately. But, Liverpool again was in control of an entertaining second period.

Mohamed Salah saw a goal disallowed by VAR for handball by Firmino in the build-up. But, Mane stole in at the far post to pounce on an error by the impressive Joe Rodon to seal the win for Klopp’s side.

Currently, Liverpool is four points behind leaders Manchester City who have an extra game at hand.
