Team News

Liverpool

  • Liverpool is without Arthur, Diogo Jota, and Luis Diaz for the long-term, and Roberto Firmino is also unlikely to return from his calf injury just yet. However, the impending arrival of Gakpo comes at a perfect time for Liverpool, who are currently without these players.
  • James Milner (hamstring) and Curtis Jones (shin) are also aiming for comebacks in Liverpool’s match against Brentford on January 2, which is when Gakpo could supposedly be available if Liverpool can work out the details of the transfer with PSV Eindhoven in time. Milner and Jones both suffered from injuries to their shins.
  • Ibrahima Konate, who competed in the finals of the World Cup, is now back in training with Liverpool and could be one of a couple of changes made in the first XI despite the packed festive schedule. The fresh legs of Harvey Elliott and Fabio Carvalho could also potentially be utilized in the starting lineup.

Leicester City

  • An injury was added to insult for Leicester in their loss to Newcastle. Dennis Praet, who had just begun to force his way back into the fray, was caught in the back by the knee of Joelinton and had to come off the field after 17 minutes. This was despite the fact that Leicester had just begun to force their way back into the fray.
  • The Belgian, along with Ryan Bertrand and Ricardo Pereira, will not participate in this match. James Justin, Jonny Evans, and James Maddison, whose problematic knee ailment is once again causing him a great deal of pain and discomfort.
  • As a result of Praet’s injury, Ayoze Perez or Marc Albrighton may have a better chance of making a comeback to the starting lineup. Additionally, Jamie Vardy and Wilfred Ndidi may benefit from some welcome rotation for the away team as a result of Praet’s injury.

Possible Lineup

Liverpool: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold; Konate; Van Dijk; Robertson; Thiago; Fabinho; Elliott; Salah; Nunez; and Carvalho.

Leicester City: Ward; Castagne; Amartey; Faes; Thomas; Ndidi; Tielemans; Perez; Dewsbury-Hall; Barnes; Vardy

Prediction Analysis

The stalwart rearguard action that Leicester put up right before the World Cup didn’t matter when they faced a Newcastle team that had a penchant for goals, and Rodgers should experience a similar fate when he returns to the stadium where he played previously.

Because recent happenings both on and off the field have likely left the Anfield crowd in a buoyant mood, Klopp’s in-form side should make full use of the advantages of playing at home and finish the year 2022 with another three points to add to their tally.

Our predictions is Liverpool 2-0 Leicester City.
