Goalless games in Liverpool
The spotlight-game of the round was played at Anfield. Liverpool hosted Manchester United and we have seen a good match. It’s the historic derby in England and fans are really attracted to this type of game. It’s a really important game this season because both teams are in the top 4 positions of the Premier League table. Manchester United is the first team right now in England. Liverpool is in fourth position in the table.
Fans may not be satisfied because there were no goals. In strategic terms, it was a really good match from both coaches. Fans of Liverpool think that Klopp had enough power to control the game more than it was visible on the pitch. Liverpool was the host so the fans demanded the win. Keep in mind that winning in this game could lead to first position in Premier League. Currently Manchester United kept the first position and now they can challenge for the championship from a better position.
Ole decided to start with Pogba and Bruno. Both midfielders played a really good match. Their performance in the midfield was solid, so Liverpool could not control the midfield. That’s why Liverpool was mostly crossing from the defender straight to the wingers. Mane and Salah were active and they could register three shots on target. Manchester United players registered four shots on target. Unfortunately to the fans, both teams played a goalless match. MU took one point from Anfield.
Fulham 0-1 Chelsea
Experts of the Premier League believe that Lampard is losing momentum. His team was playing really good football at the start of the season. Unfortunately to Chelsea fans, he could not keep up with other giants of the Premier League.
In the match against Fulham, both teams had solid moments to score goals. Unfortunately to Fulham fans, the team could not score a goal. They mostly defended after the red card of Robinson. Chelsea could score a winner in the final minutes of the match. Mason Mount is a true leader and hero because he is saving the job of Lampard. The London derby ended with three points for Lampard’s team.
