LSG vs MI Eliminator Match: Yesterday in the battle for Qualifier 2, Naveen-ul-Haq was the star performer for his team, the Lucknow Super Giants, as he took major wickets of Rohit Sharma, Surya Kumar, and Cameron Green. Naveen has been making many headlines in this season’s IPL because of his clash with Virat Kohli during their league stage match. He faced many trolls, and in every LSG match, the crowd chanted Kohli’s name whenever he used to bowl.

Naveen’s special 11th over

In yesterday’s match, in the 11th over, when Naveen took two wickets, he came up with a celebration where he shut his ear and closed his eyes. This reminded everyone of KL Rahul’s gesture when the previous year he hit one of his IPL centuries for LSG. Earlier, Naveen used to celebrate his wickets by lifting his shirt collar, but in the eliminator, after dismissing MI’s captain Rohit, he shut his ears, signaling to the crowd that he was actually shutting out the outside noise.

Gavaskar on this celebration-

Along with the audience and viewers, this celebration also caught commentator Sunil Gavaskar’s attention, as he said he did not understand this. During the commentary, Gavaskar said, “He has had issues with the crowd , you should not celebrate by chucking your ears, this is the time you got a wicket, so you gotta listen to the applause. Also, when somebody makes a hundred they should not chuck their ears , Listen to the applause, chuck your hand behind the ears, and say “Now can I hear you”? That’s how celebrations should be. That’s old me saying this by the way” Gavaskar added.

Naveen created many controversy this season

Naveen-ul- Haq has been a good asset for Lucknow Super Giants, as he picked 10 wickets in eight matches with an economy rate of less than 8 runs per over. On May 1, He was involved in a spat with Kohli, which also included Gambhir after the match. Both Kohli and Gambhir were fined 100 percent of their match fees, while Naveen was fined 50 percent of the match fee. After the match Kohli’s fans also spammed Naveen’s Instagram post comments with a lot of hate that the 23 year old had to turn off the comments and after this he also limited the comments of his other posts. The fight didn’t stop there, as Naveen created another controversy with his Instagram stories during RCB’s match and his “sweet mangoes” post after Virat got dismissed in the match against MI.
