KL-Rahul-led Lucknow lost their last match to MS-dhoni-led Chennai in a nail-biting contest by 12 runs at Chepauk. The side still has 2 points after winning the first match against Delhi by 50 runs. LUC is currently sitting 4th in the table after one win and one loss with a net rate run of 0.950. Lucknow will be eyeing to win this match to further strengthen their spot in the top four.

Hyderabad continued their disastrous campaign from the previous season as the Orange army guided by Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the absence of new skipper Aiden Markram, HYD lost by a huge margin in their first game of the season. A 72-run loss against Rajasthan will be very difficult to forget however HYD will look to put that result in the past to get their first win of the season under the new skipper.

Lucknow started the tournament well with a convincing win in their first match but their loss in the second match will make the management think about where it went wrong. LUC lost to CHE by 12 runs while chasing a massive total of 218 runs. The bowlers could not do much as the ball was being dispatched all over the park.

The leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi was the best bowler as he picked up 3 wickets in his 4 overs while conceding only 28 runs. English gun bowler Mark Wood too picked up 3 wickets by leaking 49 runs in his 4 overs. While chasing Windies’ six-hitter Kyle Mayers was once again their top run scorer with 53 runs off 22 balls that included 8 fours and 2 sixes in his blistering knock. Another Windies left-handed batter Nicholas Pooran smashed 32 runs off 18 balls that included 2 fours and  3 sixes in his innings which were too little too late as LUC failed to reach the target and fell short by 12 runs.

HYD has had a horrid start to the season, losing to RAJ by 72 runs in their opening fixture. HYD conceded 203 runs in the first innings. For Hyderabad, Fazalhaq Farooqi and T Natarajan were the picks of the bowlers as they claimed 2 wickets each while giving 41 and 23 runs in bowling. However, that was not enough as the HYD set a huge total of 204 runs to chase.

There were hardly any positives for the Orange Army from the batting department as HYD could manage only 131 runs in their 20 overs. The opening batter Mayank Agarwal (27) and impact player Abdul Samad (32) were the only batters who got starts however they too could not convert them.

Match Details

Match: LUC vs HYD, 10th Match, Indian T20 League 2023

Date: Friday, April 07, 2023

Time: 7:30 PM

Venue: Ekana Sportz City, Lucknow

Pitch and Weather Report

Ekana stadium is considered to be pace friendly with help for spinners in the middle overs. As it seems dew will play a huge part in this fixture which makes it hard to bowl in the second innings which is why the team winning the toss should choose to bowl first here.

The pitch is considered as considered pace-friendly. The runs may, though, come freely if batters secure their feet. Spinners are likely to contribute in the middle overs in Lucknow. The average score at this venue is 151 runs but we anticipate a big score in this match.

The maximum temperature will remain at 36°C, with a low of 21°C with 24% humidity, and a wind speed of 21 Km/hr for the 10th Match, LUC vs HYD on April 07. The weather in Ekana Sportz City, Lucknow during the match day will remain hot and humid but we can expect the cool wind to blow in the evening.
