Suarez recommends Messi to stay at Barcelona
Luis Suarez hopes to see Lionel Messi stay at Barcelona, but the former Blaugrana striker claims he has no inside information regarding the big contract call at Camp Nou. Currently, six-time Ballon d’Or winner Messi continues to run his deal in Catalonia down towards free agency. New conditions were clarified, but no documents were signed, and the current star of Atletico Madrid Suarez is among those waiting on a future decision from an all-time giant. Suarez, who spent six memorable years with Messi at Barca, told reporters on whether he thinks the iconic Argentine should stay put: “As a friend and fan, I would be happy, I would love it, and I would recommend that he continue at Barcelona. Has he told me if he’s staying? Not yet.”

Suarez believes Barca should build more Argentine firepower, with no complaints on his part at Blaugrana seeking out more experience after parting with his services in the summer of 2020. The 34-year-old added on the Aguero talk: “Now there is a new board of directors, other people, and they are looking for a quality player. Obviously, he has a relationship with Leo, but one cannot argue about what a quality player he is and what he can give to Barcelona. So I fully support this decision.”
