Luka is a fan of Leo Messi
Luka Romero expressed his admiration for role models Leo Messi and Juan Roman Riquelme. At the age of 15 and 219, the teenager became the youngest player in LaLiga history when he came out for Real Mallorca against Real Madrid in June. Although he was born in Mexico, Romero represented Argentina – the country of his parents – at the youth level. “There is only one Messi,” Romero told reporters when asked about comparisons to the Barcelona star. “It’s annoying because I want to make my name in football as Luka Romero. Well, that’s not annoying, but I prefer to be called by my name. I’m a Messi fan. I watch all of his games.
Also, Messi was another Argentinian hero for Romero growing up. “My dad shows me the Riquelme’s video because I love playing as No.10,” said the youngster. Much attention was given to Romero when he made his LaLiga debut against Real Madrid, but he is not worried about all the care at such a young age. “For me, it’s like playing in the park with my friends. I have to enjoy it and try to do well.”
