Luke Shaw feels that his new teammate Cristiano Ronaldo taught the team important lessons of professionalism at the start of the season.
What did Luke say about Cristiano Ronaldo?
Cristiano has changed the mentality of Man Utd with his second to nothing, said left-back 26-year-old Luke Shaw. Luke said the players are following their Portuguese teammate’s lead when it comes to his training focus and professionalism, and the defender believes Cristiano’s strong leadership could ultimately lead to better on-pitch conditions for the entire team.
Man Utd’s resolve is put to the test early in the season, however, as three losses in September and a disappointing draw against Everton that began in October have chilled the lukewarm sentiments that were rife when Cristiano first announced his punchy comeback.
Luke Shaw said that everyone knows what Cristiano Ronaldo is a star, what he has been doing for a number of years, it is incredible to be with him in the dressing room. Everyone can see the way Ronaldo behaves, how professional he is. Luke understands why Ronaldo has been at the top for so many years. According to Luke Shaw, the mentality of Cristiano Ronaldo is second to none. Luke thinks Ronaldo has really improved this in and around the dressing room.
Cristiano found himself in the middle of the storm
As a team, Man Utd is performing slightly better at this stage than they did in the previous campaign. They are on 14 points and in fourth place after seven Premier League games; in 2020-21 they were on seven points and in 15th place by this time. Cristiano Ronaldo himself has scored five times in six appearances, including his much-needed Champions League winner when he stopped against Villarreal last week.
However, the lack of overt domination outside the goal allowed the drama to hang around the club as Cristiano found himself at the center of a storm in recent days, when Ferguson comments appeared on social media suggesting he should have started against Everton.
