After losing their last game against Lahore Qalandars, Multan Sultans came back to winning ways on Wednesday.

Multan Sultans got off to a brilliant start

M Rizwan and Co. beat Karachi Kings by 7 wickets to consolidate their position on the points table. Chasing a 174-run total, Multan Sultans got off to a brilliant start.

 

Shan Masood and M Rizwan stitched a 100-run partnership for the opening wicket. Masood got out in the 15th over after scoring 45 off 41. M Rizwan later got out two overs later after playing a match-winning 76-run knock off 56 balls.

 

Tim David (13 off 7) scored two boundaries but, unfortunately, got out at the wrong time. However, R Rossouw (14 off 5) and Khushdil Shah (21 off 9) held firm and put an unbeaten 35-run partnership for the fourth wicket, thereby guiding the team home. Needing 9 runs in the final over, Rossouw hit a six on the third ball of the final over to take the team home with three balls left in the match.

 

Earlier, Karachi Kings managed to score 174 runs in the first innings. After Babar Azam (2 off 4) got out early, Sharjeel Khan (36 off 34) and Joe Clarke (40 off 29) put on a brilliant 72-run partnership for the second wicket to give the team a solid start. Later, R Nazir (21 off 12), Nabi (21 off 15), and Imad Wasim (32 off 16) made valuable contributions with the bat to guide the team to a solid 174-run total in the first innings.

 

For Multan Sultans, none of the bowlers looked impressive. S Dahani picked 2 wickets but conceded 44 runs in four overs. Besides, Khushdil Shah and Imran Tahir picked one wicket each.
