Recently, Maguire was pictured on crutches and wearing a protective boot casting doubts that his return. Since United lost their number five, they have struggled with Eric Bailly and Axel Tuanzebe alternatively cutting in.

However, attending the premiere screening of Sir Alex’s new documentary Maguire sparkles a bit of good news. The veteran defender was seen without the crutches and wearing a protective boot.

Speaking on the whole ordeal that got him injured, Maguire reveals it was an ankle twist and not a muscle injury.

“Basically, he [Villa player Anwar el Ghazi] just fell on me and put all his weight on me and I ended up twisting my ankle. It wasn’t a muscle injury, so it was a bit unfortunate and very frustrating,” Maguire revealed.

‘I was very disappointed on the night and the day after, but I’ve come to terms with it. I’ve got to be positive. I’ve got to look forward and make sure when I’m ready to come back that I’m fully fit. Raring to go and can pick up where I left off,” the Manchester skipper added.

Meanwhile, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer refuses to rule out a striker addition to his 2021/22 season despite Edison Cavani’s new contract.

Speaking earlier this week, Solskjaer says, “No, of course, I can’t (rule out bringing in a center-forward).

“Yeah, Edi [Cavani] signed but how many good strikers have we had at this club?

“And I can’t say we’re not signing a striker, of course not because we’re building towards a better squad.

“We’re top three two years on the bounce but we’re still nowhere near where we want to be. Hopefully, we’ll end up with a stronger squad at the start of next season and be more consistent and challenge the ones in front of us.”
