There will be six teams in this newly introduced league: Washington Freedom, MI New York, Los Angeles Knight Riders, San Francisco Unicorns, Seattle Orcas and Texas Super Kings.
When Major League Cricket will start?
Major League Cricket will start on July 13 and will end on July 30 2023. The matches will be played at Grand Prairie Stadium, Dallas TX. First instalment of MLC will feature 19 matches across 18 days, with fans will get a chance to see international stars playing high quality cricket.
Four of these 6 teams have been backed by big IPL franchise while two of them are absolutely new to cricket world. Los Angeles Knight Riders backed by KKR, MI New York by Mumbai Indians, Texas Super Kings supported by Chennai Super Kings.
The Washington Freedom and San Francisco Unicorns are two other teams that have obtained finance from American investors in addition to Cricket NSW and Cricket Victoria, respectively.
