Man City is set to increase its interest in Harry Kane, with the Premier League champions expected to make an official move for the Tottenham striker.
Reason for interest
The goal was revealed by club sources that City has yet to make an official bid amid reports of a £ 100m offer. But the 27-year-old is City’s top target this summer, with Guardiola keen to add England international to the side that won the Premier League and advanced to the Champions League final. Record striker Sergio Aguero will complete the free transfer to Barcelona when his contract expires at the end of the month, leaving Gabriel Jesus as the club’s only recognized center forward. Although Pep has been out of the Argentine due to injury and illness for most of the past season and has lined up mostly with a false nine, Pep Guardiola wants a new attacking center. Another potential target is Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland, but the Bundesliga club has insisted that the Novegian is not for sale this summer.
And what will Tottenham do?
The striker signed a two-year contract three years ago that ties him to the North London club until 2024. Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is supposed to want to keep his star striker, who has been with the club throughout his professional career, even though he had spells on loan at Millwall, Leyton Orient, Leicester and Norwich. Tottenham’s situation is complicated by the fact that they are still looking for a replacement for the manager Mourinho, who was fired in April.
Harry Kane’s dream
The England striker has not publicly announced that he wants to leave the club, but has made no secret of his desire to win the trophies. Harry Kane missed out on their first medal when Spurs were beaten by City in the Carabao Cup in April, while they also missed out on qualifying for the Champions League. Kane also revealed in an interview with former England international Gary Neville that he considers Kevin De Bruyne a dream to play together.
