Manchester United fans have made it known they want Odion Ighalo to stay in the club when the loan ends.

After opting against signing Erling Haaland in January as they looked to boosts their attacking ranks, United instead made the surprising move of bringing Ighalo in on loan for the rest of the season.

United received lots of ridicule for signing the former Watford who had been playing in China for the last three years. However, Ighalo quickly proved them wrong.

The Nigerian scored four goals and grabbed an assist in three starts for the club. He also proved to be a useful option off the bench in the Premier League. As expected, the fans with no time took him in due to obvious love for the club.

Playing for United was a dream for Ighalo. Sadly, the dreams seem to be cut short due to the coronavirus pandemic which has seen the suspension of football in England.

The 30-year-old loan deal is set to expire at the end of June. According to Sky Sports, Ighalo’s parent club, Shanghai expects him back for the rest of the Chinese Super League in early July.

So, United currently face the prospects of having to complete the season without Ighalo. Some supporters are not into the idea and have expressed their hope that the club can probably keep him.
