Man United Loses their Sparkle and Power to Boss the Transfer Market.
According to reports, it is claimed Manchester United has lost their spark and power to rule the transfer market.
For Manchester United this summer, getting rid of players was always going to be the simple part.
Paul Pogba, Edinson Cavani, Jesse Lingard, Juan Mata, and Nemanja Matic were anticipated to depart. If agreements can be reached, Dean Henderson, Anthony Martial, Eric Bailly, and Phil Jones will gladly follow them out of Old Trafford.
This team is in severe need of purging, which will provide new manager Erik ten Hag with the perfect chance to start over.
But persuading their transfer targets to join the Ten Hag project was going to be difficult for United. That is exactly what is happening.
Despite needing far more reinforcements than their rivals, Manchester City and Liverpool have made a flying start to the summer market while United appears to be trailing.
Fans are worried, and club favorite Gary Neville is among them. This week, Neville said, “I know (it’s) early in the window. But it’s alarming that United are failing to get business done.”
“The others appear prepared, but United is unable to move.” ETH must quickly assemble his squad in order to mold them. It will be difficult for him if they arrive late! Let’s hope that occurs soon.
United is no longer able to outspend the competition by using its greater pulling power. Those teams are now City and Liverpool. Erling Haaland, the top aim for City, was attained, and Darwin Nunez, the top target for Liverpool.
Frenkie De Jong was given priority by United, but after weeks of discussions with Barcelona and the player’s troubling indications that he would like to remain at the Nou Camp, no movement seems to have been accomplished.
Jurrien Timber, another former Ajax player who has been connected to Ten Hag, is a defender who is reportedly not persuaded about heading to Old Trafford, according to the most recent rumors out of Holland. Who else could persuade them to attend if Ten Hag couldn’t?
When the Norwegian hotshot departed Red Bull Salzburg in January 2020, United believed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer may be the ace card in negotiations with his former Molde attacker Haaland, but he ended up choosing Borussia Dortmund.
After a decade of failure, the truth is that United has, for the time being at least, lost its luster. Old Trafford is no longer the destination of choice for players.
The best players want to join teams where success is guaranteed from the start; they want to integrate right away into a successful formula. Look at how easily Luis Diaz adapted to life at Liverpool in January, entering a fight for championships on four fronts that lasted right up to the season’s end.
In contrast, consider Pogba’s dismal six-year tenure at United. Whatever your opinion of Pogba, the French World Cup winner gave the club some of his greatest years and accomplished relatively little. That will be noticed by other players.
