Manchester United have reportedly scouted Ajax midfielder Ryan Gravenberch in preparation for a possible move to Old Trafford.

The teenager is one of the world’s most highly rated teens and has been connected with a number of big European clubs.

United’s main position in the upcoming summer transfer window is midfield.

According to claims, the Red Devils have identified the 19-year-old as a priority target as they look to the future following their sad Champions League loss.

One potential stumbling block, though, is a man they are all too familiar with: football super-agent Mino Raiola.

Raiola, with whom United have clashed over current midfielder Paul Pogba, also represents Gravenberch.

The Ajax star is thought to prefer a move to Bundesliga heavyweights Bayern Munich, where Raiola has close ties.

Gravenberch is the newest product of Ajax’s illustrious junior program, which also produced Donny van de Beek, who joined Everton on loan in January.

He became a regular last season and has already appeared in 97 games for the Dutch side, scoring 11 goals. At 6’2′, the Dutchman is physically powerful, has outstanding feet, and is adept at maneuvering through small areas.

At Ajax, he has primarily functioned in a double pivot position and has dropped deep to assist with build-up play.

One critical component in determining whether he should join United is the club’s Champions League qualification.

The Red Devils are one point behind fourth-placed Arsenal, who have two games in hand.
