Only three months to the season, Manchester United supporters have identified the point when they believe their team will disintegrate.
Following the introduction of the 2022–23 Premier League schedule, fans around the nation are busy marking important dates on their calendars. United, which finished last season with its worst-ever Premier League point total, has great expectations for a revolution under new manager Erik ten Hag. On the first weekend, they host Brighton before traveling to Brentford and Liverpool’s visit to Old Trafford.
However, their October games are what have fans the most alarmed. On October 1, Ten Hag’s team visits Everton, followed a week later by a trip to neighboring and defending champions Manchester City.
Following back-to-back home games against fourth-place finishers, Newcastle and Tottenham from the previous season, a trip to Chelsea is scheduled for three days later.
West Ham, who rivaled United for sixth place in 2021–2022, will visit United to close off the month.
These are, of course, only league games. In addition, Ten Hag’s squad will play three group stage Europa League matches over a demanding October schedule. Nine fixtures total in just 28 days.
One United supporter tweeted, “Lmao our fixtures in October.” “We won’t make it to November alive!”
Another said, “October is a horrible batch of matches.”
A third person said, “We’re being thoroughly filled in October aren’t we?”
Another concerned supporter declared, “Our October games will determine our season.”
Given that United fell to its neighborhood rivals by an overall score of 6-1 last season, the journey to the Etihad Stadium at the beginning of October is especially intimidating.
Of their last nine trips to Stamford Bridge, they have only managed one victory.
@ManUtd There’s no doubt about it! A fan tweeted, “We ain’t winning a game in October.”
A Liverpool supporter laughed at United’s October matchups by writing, “Lmaooooooo 0 points.”
Throughout their demanding schedule, United’s squad depth will be put to the test, but ten Hag hasn’t made any fresh additions.
Frenkie de Jong, Denzel Dumfries, and Christian Eriksen are just a few players who have been linked to transfers to Old Trafford.
Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard, Juan Mata, Nemanja Matic, and Edinson Cavani have all left the team.
A supporter joked, “Hahaha @ManUtd’s October.” Without adequate team depth, “I hope we acquire additions because I don’t see us surviving that month.”
Our season may be finished by October with the present team and no fresh signings to date, another said.
