Former Manchester United trio Patrice Evra, Roy Keane, and Gary Neville have praised the West Ham midfielder Declan Rice.

The Red Devils legends lavished praises to Rice after declaring his interest in making a high-profile summer move. According to Patrice Evra, Rice is a symbol of the future, but keeping him will be hard.

“Moyes has given him the captaincy, so for me, it symbols the future of West Ham. It’s not easy to put Mark Noble on the bench. Former United left-back and French Patrice Evra believe Rice is a hot cake and West Ham will eventually have to lose him.

“They know they are going to lose him because many big clubs are interested in Declan, but right now he’s the man of West Ham. I’m not surprised.

“I knew this player would never allow his head to get bigger because he’s so focused and humble – and you can see him smiling, he’s happy, what a joy. I’m very pleased for him,” Evra said.

Roy Keane who worked with Rice in Ireland highlights Rice’s weak side. He insists he is not consistent enough and needs to improve.

He said, “Where he needs to improve, there are plenty of aspects when you think about it.”

“Over the last few months he has had a lot of praise, I worked with him when he was with the Ireland squad.

“Where he needs to improve, where do you want me to start? His positional play, I don’t think is consistent enough, he doesn’t stay with runners, he’s sloppy in possession. I can go on…”

However, Rice has not received plenty of praise this season from Gary Neville. But in the recent International break, Nevile claimed that “Kalvin Phillips is better at passing the ball through the lines.” He said Phillips is better than both Rice and Henderson.
