Robert Lewandowski is seeking a route out of Bayern Munich, and Manchester United may be able to provide him with one as they seek to boost their attack force at Old Trafford.

Manchester United is set to enter the hunt for Bayern Munich’s wantaway striker Robert Lewandowski.

The Pole has established himself as one of Europe’s top marksmen, but after eight years at the Allianz Arena, he wants to go. He just has a year remaining on his contract and is looking for a fresh challenge somewhere.

Despite the fact that Barcelona is Lewandowski’s first destination, United might be about to provide him an opportunity to establish himself in the Premier League. Bayern’s £40 million-plus price tag may be too much for the Spanish club, allowing Manchester United to steal a march.

Chelsea are also interested in the 33-year-old, but Manchester United is anxious for someone to play in attack to relieve Cristiano Ronaldo’s workload.

They’ll have to entice the Pole without the promise of Champions League football, which may be difficult.

After going public with his dissatisfaction, Lewandowski doesn’t look to have a future at Munich. “Am I hopeful about signing for Barca?” he asked. It’s a significant question.

This is not a pleasant scenario for me. At the moment, the only certainty is that my time at Bayern is ended.

“I don’t think I’ll be able to continue my career at this club.” Let’s see what we can do in the next two weeks; I don’t want to stay at the club and want to concentrate on Poland. We’ll discuss the issue after the Nations League, but I don’t think I’ll be able to continue at Bayern.”
