Manchester United and Juventus have reached a “broad agreement” over a deal for Mario Mandzukic. Let’s hope his arrival in January will retrieve United off their “critical condition”.

Since the departure of Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez, we have had no striker moving to Old Trafford. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side has struggled with Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood to lead the line this season.

This and many others have seen United ‘drowning’ in the Premier League table. To solve the situation, United is in broad agreement with Juventus over a deal for Mario Mandzukic.

Links with Mandzukic have resurfaced in the build-up to the reopening of the transfer window in January.

The Croatia striker, was a target for Solskjaer late in the summer after United let Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez join Inter Milan.

The player felt too rushed to decide his future before the deadline.

Nonetheless, he has not made a single appearance for the Serie A giants. This is ever since Maurizio Sarri was appointed their head coach during the summer.

Additionally, Mandzukic has only appeared on the bench for three of a possible nine matches.

With all that lined up, his lack of game time for Juventus coupled with United’s attacking woes has reignited belief that a winter deal could be on the cards.

Reports suggest that the 33-year-old could make the move to Old Trafford before the end of this year. This will give him time to acclimatize to his new surroundings before being registered to play at the earliest opportunity in January.

Mandzukic will depart Juventus in January having already ‘reached a verbal agreement’ with the Red Devils over a switch to Old Trafford.

Juventus wants to offload Mandzukic. In respect to this, they will hold out for £10 million before selling him in January.
