The Germany goalkeeper is perfectly well-prepared

Germany keeper Manuel Neuer can perform at the top level “for a few more years,” says Joachim Low. Neuer, who is 35-years-old, has enjoyed an illustrious career at the highest level of the game spanning 17 years. He has won numerous major club-level trophies with Bayern Munich and the FIFA World Cup with his country. It has been suggested that Neuer’s time as Germany’s first goalkeeper is now coming to an end. But Low still thinks he has a lot to offer because he remains fully focused on capturing the most important titles in the game. Speaking ahead of the World Cup qualifying clash with Romania on Sunday. Joachim Low told reporters about Neuer’s longevity: “At the moment, he makes a perfectly well-prepared impression.”

Three German keepers are looking to displace Neuer

“He’s turned 35 and had an incredible career. He is very motivated, still has big goals, hungry for titles. I think he can play at that level for a few more years”. Currently, three goalkeepers are looking to displace Neuer in Low’s set-up with a view to this summer’s European Championships. Barcelona star Marc-Andre ter Stegen has played as Neuer’s No.2 for years. He continues to insist on the leading role between the sticks after another excellent season at Camp Nou. Bernd Leno is also on the list, but Arsenal’s erratic 2020-21 campaign has done little to improve his Euro chances. While Eintracht Frankfurt’s Kevin Trapp also made Low’s shortlist for the latest international break. The keeper has appeared in a total of 97 appearances for Germany since his debut in 2009, including Thursday’s 3-0 win against Iceland.

Bayern Munich’s goalkeeper won the Golden Glove after Die Mannschaft’s 2014 World Cup glory in Brazil and also has a Confederation Cup winners’ medal in his name.
